Sandhills Bogeys Name Former Player Josh Zambito Head Coach

Pinehurst, NC – The Sandhills Bogeys are proud to announce that Josh Zambito, a former Bogeys player and member of the team's 2026 championship coaching staff, has been named the club's new head coach.

Zambito returns to lead a program he knows well. He played collegiately at the University of Maine, St. Andrews University, and Point Park University, and also suited up for the Bogeys as a player before joining the coaching staff. Last summer, he served as an assistant coach and first base coach for the Bogeys, helping guide the team to the 2026 ONSL championship.

In addition to his work with the Bogeys, Zambito serves as the catching coach and an assistant coach at Point Park University.

"I'm proud to be part of the winning culture of the Sandhills Bogeys. From the players and fans to the administration, everyone involved is committed to excellence," Zambito said. "As a former player, I know firsthand how special this place is and how much it has given me. I'm incredibly excited to be the head coach and give back to a program and community that mean so much to me."

Zambito also credited the mentorship he has received within the organization.

"Coach Fox was and is a major mentor to me, and you will continue to see a similar brand of baseball," he said.

With Zambito at the helm, the Bogeys look to build on their championship success as they prepare for the upcoming season.
